Registered Apprenticeship Standards Compendium
About
Apprenticeship standards outline each component of a registered apprenticeship program from supervision details, probationary period lengths, hours of required on-the-job training, related-technical instruction requirements, and wage schedules for specific occupations. Organizations seeking to recruit and retain skilled employees are required to utilize standards to set expectations between themselves and their apprentices.
The Compendium, which can be accessed here, or at ApprenticeshipStandards.org, is part of the Urban Institute’s Registered Apprenticeship Occupations and Standards Center of Excellence. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship, the mission of the Center of Excellence is to build a gold-standard occupational skills infrastructure that increases the transparency, portability, quality, usability, and scalability of the US apprenticeship system. The compendium can be searched by industry or occupation and at both the national and state level. In addition to this [compendium], the Center of Excellence is developing more than 80 National Occupational Frameworks, institutionalizing best practices, and promoting methodologies to ensure a sustainable, high-quality registered apprenticeship system.
